JWM Neurology Research Team
The JWM Neurology research team consists of Board Certified Neurologists and experienced Clinical Research Coordinators. Our staff works closely together with our physicians to ensure that each study is performed accurately, safely and successfully. All of our staff members are trained in and adhere to Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
Craig E. Herrman, M.D. Director of Research/Investigator
Dr. Craig Herrman received his M.D. from Indiana University in 2000. He completed his Neurology Residency in 2004 followed by an EMG/EEG fellowship. He practices general Neurology with particular interests in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromuscular Disease. Dr. Herrman is the principal investigator for several ongoing studies in Multiple Sclerosis and acts as the Research Director for JWM Neurology.
Kristi K. George, M.D.
Kristi George, M.D., received her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN in 1984. She then received her M.D. at Indiana University in 1989. She went on to complete a Neurology Residency, followed by a Fellowship in EMG and Neuromuscular Disease at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She has worked at JWM Neurology since the completion of her training in 1996.
Keith R. Ridel, M.D.
Dr. Keith Ridel is a pediatric neurologist and received his M.D. at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio in 2005. He completed his Pediatric Residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in 2007, followed by a Child Neurology Fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Ridel sees infants, children, teenagers and adults with general neurology problems. He also serves as an investigator on the JWM pediatric research trials.
Karen L. Griffin, MSN, NP-C
Karen L. Griffin, MSN, NP-C is a Certified Nurse Practitioner. The Echols Scholar for Indiana University School of Nursing in 1990, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1994 and her Master of Science degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner in 2007 (also completed at IU School of Nursing). Karen has worked primarily in neuroscience nursing since the early 1990s. She cares for a broad range of patients with neurological conditions and enjoys providing education promoting wellness about neurological conditions and teaching lifestyle changes to improve symptom management.
Jennifer L. Irwin, PA-C
Jennifer L. Irwin, PA-C, is a Certified Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology in 2004 at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. She received her Master of Science Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2006 from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Jennifer sees pediatric patients with general neurology conditions.
Zara F. Bogenschutz, PA-C, MPAS
Zara F. Bogenschutz, PA-C, MPAS, is a Certified Physician Assistant. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish in 2015 at Butler University. She received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2017 from Butler University. Zara sees patients with general neurology conditions.
Elizabeth Bancroft, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Elizabeth Bancroft, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 2017. She worked at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center in endocrinology research before returning to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 2019. She completed her Master of Science degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner, also from the University of Cincinnati, in 2022. Elizabeth sees patients with all types of neurological conditions.
Kristina Cleveland, Research Manager
Kristina Cleveland has been with JWM Neurology since 1997 and has served as the Research Manager and Coordinator since 2005. She earned clinical research coordinator certification with ACRP.
Kristi Mann, Study Coordinator
Kristi Mann has been with JWM Neurology since 1997 and has worked in the research department since 2008. Kristi previously worked as a medical assistant to the JWM neurologists. She earned her clinical research coordinator certification with ACRP.
Tammy Root, Study Coordinator
Tammy joined the JWM Neurology research team in October, 2012 as a study coordinator. She has six years of animal research experience at the Indianapolis Zoo and recently received her Clinical Research Certificate from IUPUI. She earned her clinical research coordinator certification with ACRP.
Erica Williams, Study Coordinator
Erica joined the JWM Neurology research team in November 2017 as a study coordinator. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2004 from Manchester College and her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2010 from Loyola University in Maryland. She worked in research before joining our team 11/27/2017.
Tajuana Booker, Study Coordinator
Tajuana joined the JWM Neurology research team in August 2020 as a study coordinator. She earned her Associates of Applied Science Jan 1999, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate in February 2017, and Associates of Ministerial Leadership in May 2018.
Skyla Baird, Study Coordinator
Skyla Baird joined the JWM Neurology research team in March 2023 as a Clinical Research Coordinator. Her journey into the field of clinical research was catalyzed by her academic pursuits, culminating in the attainment of a bachelor’s degree in business administration & management and psychology with a specialized focus on clinical and counseling studies from the University of Indianapolis. During her undergraduate tenure, Skyla actively engaged in hands-on research activities.
